This breed is endangered because the meat in gourmet quality making it demanded. Each bird yields portions suitable for 2-3 people. Their genetics are complex, making good show specimens a challenge.
So this duck is really good to eat and that's why it is endangered? Interesting! Hopefully the duck will be able to survive!
